American Diabetes Association (ADA)

Tour de Cure is a series of fund-raising cycling events held nationwide benefiting the American Diabetes Association®. The event has supported ADA's efforts to advocate on behalf of over 37.3 million Americans living with diabetes, fund research for a cure and provide resources to health care professionals and anyone impacted by this disease.

Objective

The goal was to design iconic apparel that would be worn by fundraising folks of all ages, or teams inspired by the vision of a life free of diabetes and all its burdens. Distinctive Red Rider, Champion, and fundraising jerseys would be worn by individuals who either have diabetes, prediabetes, or know of or care for a loved one with diabetes.

Design Solution

"It Starts with Me" themed jerseys depicting an upward highway to find cure were designed with bold fonts and vibrant colors in order to motivate and empower riders to fight for the cure as well as thrive, amidst the obstacles and challenges of living with diabetes, caring for a loved one with diabetes, or just fighting for an important cause.

The various color combinations supported ADA's proprietary "red" brand in a way that created harmony and balance. The geometric lines conveyed energy and speed as well as positivity and excitement, all of which are shared sentiments by those who attend and participate in the event.

Results

Red Riders and fundraising participants alike were excited to wear their new vibrant jerseys. We received wonderful remarks and overall great reviews by the Association's stakeholders, as well as field managers on the new themed jersey designs.
